Shutting Down

Today, I’m bummed to inform you that I have decided to shut down Alumzi and cease operations. The app will be turned off on August 2nd, 2022.

The backstory

I started Alumzi during the COVID-19 lockdown as a weekend project and launched it in January 2021. I created Alumzi as a direct response to some of the challenges my own high school alumni association faced. Especially with recording the financial transactions of the association members. I later opened the app to the public so anyone could create and manage their alumni association. In the last 18 months, 115 alumni associations have been created on the app, with over 600 users.

Why am I shutting down Alumzi?

(1) Time – During the lockdown,  I had more time on my hand and as such I could devote a couple of hours each week to the development of Alumzi.  As work returned to normal, I no longer have much time to devote to Alumzi.

(2) Other Projects – Alumzi, was one of six apps that I developed during the lockdown. After evaluating the growth potential of the other apps, I have decided to devote my limited time to two of them.

I’d like to talk to someone, what should I do?

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please email me directly at albert@klonzaonline.com.

Parting thoughts

I want to thank every single one of you who has used Alumzi for giving it a shot and for your support and feedback over the last 18 months.

While I would have loved for a different outcome, I feel incredibly fortunate to have had this opportunity to serve you. I’ve learned a lot, and I have no regrets about creating and investing in Alumzi.

Alumzi is a simple web and mobile app for managing alumni associations. It provides membership and finance management functions. View full details

The app can be downloaded onto any mobile device. View details.

Alumzi is free to use. However, additional features are available for a yearly subscription.

Both the current and future features of Alumzi are focused on alumni associations and may not be a good fit for other kinds of associations.

You can create as many alumni associations as you want. But we expect most to have under 10 associations.

There are no limits. You can have as many members as you want.

Once you have signed in, click or tap on “My Alumni Associations”
Then select the desired association
Next click or tap on “Invite schoolmates to join”
You will have the option to:
